But if you’re really taking into account everything that would make for the perfect match if Mook is to return, the answer can only be Solomon. Mook has always said that he’s the Jordan of battling. Personally, I have always thought of him, and I think Norbes said it in the interview, as Jerry West, the logo. Nobody is more synonymous with battling than Murda Mook… at least on this particular side of the fence. Whether or not he was actually the best is up for debate, but he was easily the face. You saw him the most, his notoriety is second to none, and there’s not a big name in front of which he hasn’t stood… at least on this side of the fence. And the same is true of Solomon. One cannot say that he set the guidelines of his own underground scene, but his talent put him atop the heap of those that came from the Scribble/Jumpoff era. He’s the face on the other side of the coin, whether literally, or only due to the fact that we on this side of things see him that way. Solomon is the only cat besides Dizaster that has gained respect from the “SMACK” rappers and fans. Add to that, he’s been calling Mook out for a very long time. (not just in the Ness battle, but there’s this spoof video of him vs ZM back at the Fight Klub where he mentions his name) A guy here, in reference to Mook sitting on bars, asserted that his opponent would have to be overprepared. Who better to do that than someone who will not only strategize for the day, but can also adjust to the moment and rebuttal a bar or two? He’s witty, comical, he has a feel for the crowd, and, let’s be real, Solomon got bars. I’d love to make an apt comparison with some revered matchup in another sport but there isn’t one really. Maybe Bowe v Lewis, Silva v St. Pierre… but it’s big. It’s HISTORY.
